ACTIVATION PRODUCTS is sponsoring an Applied Innovation Lab, to help activate 10 MM healthy people around the world. The Lab is focused on creating and incubating and launching start-ups involved in food processing and natural health products.

CURRENT LAB ACTIVITY:

  1. The AP-AI Lab is now open. The first incubation challenge is,Pressing, Preserving, Dehydrating: Sustainable Food. We are welcoming interested teams to apply. Summer 2020 is focused on anything that can be dehydrated (kale chips, apples, fruit, mushrooms, sprouted seeds to make flours).

  2. The first accelerated functional food company launched through the Lab is live and getting ready to export to Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Latin America.

Within the broad theme of Functional Food and Food Security, the Applied Innovation Lab seeks to analyze, assess and innovate around the following areas:

  • dehydrating fresh produce as a means of preserving food, 

  • functional foods (herbs, fruits, and vegetables) that are used in traditional medicines, 

  • co-op building in the food supply chain, 

  • up cycling low cost commodity foods or food waste into high value products

  • export ready products from Canadian agri-business inputs.

Through the Applied Innovation Lab, Activation Products will incubate and launch innovative ideas. Using nearly a decade of experience in the Health & Wellness industry, Activation Products manufacturing facility provides a fully functional production and storage facility for start-ups. 

Applied Innovation begins with generating ideas and insights, or Co-ideation - a way of thinking that involves an understanding of  ethnography and stories, biases and the fringe, models and frameworks, scenario planning and Socratic inquiry and experimentation and iteration to imagine, innovate opportunities in globally competitive markets.
